Presentation at Malmö Museum

Welcome to a seminar about a giraff. Namely the giraffe that is standing in the entrance of Malmö Museer and which, with the violence and curiosity of research, has been greeting people entering the museum for over eight decades.

During the seminar I will present my project Slit, Scratch, Stuff, Stitch in which the history of the giraff is told. I will also introduce a few concepts such as anthropomorphism and anthropocentrism, as well as discussing the use of empathy and anthropomorphism as research methods.

Others presenting at the seminar are: Maria Dexborg (Afrosvenskarnas forum för rättvisa), Magnus Gelang (Göteborgs Naturhistoriska Museum), Gunlög Fur (Linnéuniversitetet) and Nandi Zulu (Watoto, Malmö).
