I highly recommend a visit to the exhibition ANIMAL KINGDOM at Nordiska Akvarellmusset. There are some fantastic work on display right now.

Here is a mix of images of work on display, outdoor scenery and slides from the presentation I held. The presentation became one about birds hanging from nails, the temporary museum fauna of Akvarellmuseet, the collecting and killing of hummingbirds and a plea to stop eating the animals served at the museum restaurant.

I’ve been invited to speak on the concept of the Museum Fauna in relation to the exhibition Animal Kingdom at the Nordic Watercolour Museum. The talk will be held in Swedish on May 7. Welcome!

Forskaren och konstnären EvaMarie Lindahl berättar om hur hon arbetar med att synliggöra andra djurs deltagande i konsthistorien. Vilka berättelser kan plockas fram om vi tittar på konsthistorien med fokus på andra arter än människan? Vilka individer är det egentligen som gömmer sig bakom det överflöd av djur vi kan se porträtterade när vi besöker ett konstmuseum? Lindahl kommer under sin presentation göra korta läsningar av utvalda verk, med fokus på porträtterade djur, och kort presentera de begrepp och metoder hon har arbetat fram under sin avhandling i konstnärlig forskning inom fältet kritiska djurstudier.

My mom just moved back to the village where I grew

My mom just moved back to the village where I grew up and I haven’t really been back since we moved in 1992. So hello Viken!!! It’s weird. It looks the same but so different. Now you can get a pizza! And it’s served by a guy in tattoos! You can also buy vegan stuff in the stores and get a coffee with oat milk. But the church is the same. And the ocean. And the view. When I stand by the ocean here, with the lighthouse Svin(a)bådan in the foreground and Kullaberg in the background it tears me up. I love the ocean. And I love seeing the land disappearing into it in the horizon.

This week are the final days of the exhibition The Tyrant and the Muse at @krognoshusetlund. Opening hours Thursday - Sunday 13-17.

I am so happy with how the exhibition turned out and thankful for the caring environment of @krognoshusetlund due to @ajhbo being so brilliant at what she does.

When I started working with this exhibition I wasn’t sure that showing works in a white cube gallery setting was my thing anymore. But it is! I had such a great time during the production, installing, the speaking and performing, and I think folding, rolling, packing while simultaneously drinking coffe with @inanian_art and @ajhbo will be equally joyful.

Next week I will celebrate with plans of the future. I’ll see you in it!

På mitt cv har jag förutom andras och egen videokonst renodlade reklamprojekt till diverse utbildningar. Detta i min roll som kommunikatör för Östra Grevie folkhögskola. Jag har redigerat video som visats i kollektivtrafik, på cityskärmar och musikvideos. Har även gjort ett klipp som visats i Aftonbladets populära podd/program Mauri möter på Youtube 😅

Auras programserie som arrangeras i samverkan med Lunds konsthall, sätter under våren 2023 fokus på konstnärlig praktik där djur på olika sätt representeras, används eller synliggörs i konstproduktion. Programserien består av tre föreläsningar och är framtagen av Konstföreningen Auras programgrupp, som består av konstnärerna Marit Lindberg @lindberg.marit och Henrik Lund Jørgensen @henriklundj

@evamarie_lindahl_studio föreläser om sin konstpraktik i anslutning till sin pågående utställning The Tyrant and the muse på Krognoshuset

EvaMarie Lindahl (född 1976, Viken) PhD, är verksam som bildkonstnär och är baserad i Sverige. Hennes researchbaserade konstprojekt befinner sig i skärningspunkten mellan kritiska djurstudier, bildkonst och aktivism.

Lindahl har utvecklat en konstpraktik som omfattar storskaliga blyertsteckningar så väl som textbaserade performanceverk.

I sina projekt ifrågasätter Lindahl ständigt skrivningen av konsthistoria från en antropocentrisk och patriarkal position genom att korrigera, skriva om och föreställa sig nya (konst)historier. På senare tid har detta utvecklats till en konstpraktik som kan kallas konsthistorieaktivism. I hennes pågående arbete ifrågasätter hon dikotomin människa-djur samt diskuterar människors vana att förtrycka andra djur genom att använda dem som resurs och material i konstproduktion.

For several years now I have been intrigued by the French animal painter Rosa Bonheur, who was born in France and lived there in the years 1822-1899. I have been fascinated by her choice of motifs, format, lifestyle and the stories that surround her person. But above all, I am taken by her ability to paint personalities, because the non-human animals she portrays do not function as representatives of an entire species, but they are individuals with specific lives, feelings and experiences. It is their lives and stories that I want to investigate. How do they view the artist Bonheur?

Hi everyone close to Lund next week. I’ll be opening my exhibition The Tyrant and the Muse at Krognoshuset Aura on February 25. Please come by!

The exhibition has evolved around my relationship with French artist and animal painter Rosa Bonheur (1822-1899) and the fact that she, for many years now, has functioned as both muse and tyrant in many of my art works.

On the opening it will also be possible to buy my new book for a great price.
