In relation to the Animals and Landscapes Symposium organised by the Multispecies Storytelling Network I have been invited to perform a guided tour at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool. During the performance I will address the visible and invisible Fauna of the Art Museum, with the help of counter art histories, speaking on feathers, an ox, and the connection between milk and white pigments. Attend a guided tour and workshop with the Swedish artist EvaMarie Lindahl that explores the untold multispecies histories of the Walker Art Gallery.
The guided tour tells the histories of portrayed non-human animals from their point of view. What is it like to be studied, painted and then organised within a gallery? And what circumstances surround the painted oxen, birds, dogs and cats of the Walker Art Gallery?
During the workshop we will draw, think and imagine ourselves closer to an art history with a multispecies perspective. You will be given tools, developed by the artist, to imagine the realities and histories of the portrayed animals on display.
